What's the Difference between Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana and Bahia Principe Bavaro Punta Cana?

These are two hotels on the same property owned by the same owners with all the same facilities. Bahia Bavaro is the newer of the two hotels although the other one has been completely refurbished. We treat these as the same hotel and usually book guests into Bahia Bavaro first.

Mini-programs provide entertainment for the children while parents take full advantage of all the resort has to offer. Couples and singles will enjoy the resort’s high-energy night life. Guests stay in the resort’s well appointed Junior Suites. All rooms are located in two and three-storey villas. Dine in one of the resort’s eight restaurants. Take advantage of the resort’s close proximity to the airport and all of the different Punta Cana golf courses.

Bahia Principe all inclusive resort sits directly on 500 meters of golden sandy beach. More than enough palapas and hotel chairs are available for hotel guests. There are a number of water sports to take part in while enjoying the beauty of the Caribbean waters. Snorkel in the warm waters and explore the marine life in the coral reef, located off shore. Take advantage of the water crafts supplied by the hotel. Take part in a beach volleyball game or relax on the section of beach reserved for quieter pursuits. Towel service is available.

Restaurant and Bars Galore!

Restaurants at the Bahia Principe offer a variety of food and atmosphere for guests on the go or for guests who want to enjoy their dining experience. Formal dining can take place at any one of the restaurants. Choices of restaurants range from Japanese and Mexican to a full international buffet. Guests may also choose to enjoy their meal from right off of the grill or in the Italian restaurant. A favorite with guests is the beach side “snack bar” as it lets them fill up without ever leaving the beach.

Bars are also conveniently scattered throughout the resort. Sip your drink in paradise by the pool or in one of the resorts official bars. Meringue in one of the Bahia Principe’s popular night time hot spots.

The Pools are potentially one of the Bahia Principe’s most remarkable man-made features

Bahia Principe may have the coolest pools in Punta Cana, the pools grab the attention of all of the resorts' guests. With four pools scattered throughout the resort, guests will have no trouble finding a pool to meet their needs. Lounge by the pool while taking in the view of the turquoise ocean, enjoying the tropical atmosphere created by the lush mangroves or tucked away in a private portion of the resort. The large lake-like main pool boasts the convenience of four bars, palapas and chairs for your comfort and most reassuring for parents, a section of the pool dedicated specifically to children. Towel service is available. The resort’s animation staff runs different activities at the pools throughout the day.

Bahia Principe Punta Cana Review Junior Suites

Our Bahia Principe Punta Cana review determined that the owners did not want to skimp on the services they deliver by having guests stay in inferior rooms. Every guest stays in a wonderfully laid out Junior Suite (an upgrade at almost every other hotel). The spacious rooms are located in two and three-story villas, all with their own balcony.

Rooms come with either two double beds or one king sized bed for your comfort. Hydromassage baths are found in each room. Ocean views are available for a surcharge.

December 2008 Update

Punta Cana Information Guide representatives just spent a few days at Bahia Principe Bavaro and were amazed by how this upscale 5 star resort has become even more beautiful. They were at the hotel to supervise 4 All Inclusive Weddings that were taking place that week. Our wedding coordinators were pleased to report that Bahia Principe Punta Cana is definitely the best location for a Caribbean destination wedding when you take value, beauty and service into consideration.

Here is a short review of their stay!

Infrastructure: The resort added a new adults only hotel on the property at the beginning of 2008 (Bahia Principe Ambar). The Ambar is truly a luxury hotel with stunning rooms, 24 hour room service and its own private pool. Guests of Bahia Principe Ambar can also use all of the other amenities around the resort.

Rooms: The rooms in Bahia Principe Ambar are breath taking: including four poster beds, rain showers and jacuzzis. These amenities coupled with 24 hour room service creates a truly memorable escape from life at home.

Food: Our reps ate at the Italian, Pescador and Garden Grill restaurants during their stay and announced that Bahia Principe Ambar and Punta Cana has the best food of any Caribbean resort they've stayed at. If you are a fan of haute cuisine then this resort is definitely for you.

Service: The increase in the number of rooms has not affected the level of service at the resort at all and new a la carte restaurants and bars have been added to accommodate the increased clientele.

Beach: Beatifully groomed, clean and this stretch always seems to have the whitest sand in Punta Cana. Amazing how a resort can have so many beach chairs and palapas. While there are definitely a lot of people here the beach miraculously did not seem crowded.
