Samana Attractions

Samaná Peninsula is famous for its quiet perfect beaches, mountains with lush vegetation and magnificent waterfalls. In Samaná you will find fabulous All Inclusive Resorts characterized by the exclusiveness of the setting, the relaxing atmosphere and the authentic hospitality together with the diverse and exciting entertainment options that Samaná Attractions offer you.

Many Samaná All Inclusive Resorts are tailored for the area eco-tourism. Several of the resorts are located on high cliffs above the beach that give the most incredible views of the Caribbean though they have incredibly easy access to the beach; even hotels that are located at high elevations like Bahía Principe Cayacoa have created easy to use elevator access to the beach.

All Inclusive Resorts in the area, most of them with on site excursion desk, offer you the possibility to enjoy spectacular Attractions in  Samaná that include swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving, whale-watching, fishing and horse back riding among others.

Among the main Attractions in Samaná are its impressive unspoiled beaches. In the north side of the peninsula you will find Las Terrenas and El Portillo for attractive dives, amazing coral reefs at a shallow depth, in contrast with astonishing deep cave and tunnel formations, as well as coral gardens for snorkelling. Samaná north coastline features huge rock cliffs that create steep drop-offs into the stunning Caribbean waters of the area, with dive depths of 165 feet and a visibility ranging from 100 to 150 feet. You can also enjoy fun waves in Playa Bonita and Cozon or enjoy a spectacular bay in Playa Rincón, where daily small boat ferries can take you. On the south, you will find Playa Galeras and Cayo Levantado, located just off the coast of Samaná. The white sand and the turquoise blue waters of the beach make this small island a true paradise.

Scuba diving in Samaná offers views that are really fantastic, not to mention that between January 15 and March 15 divers have the opportunity to hear the humpback whales calling to each other during mating season as they swim nearby. Besides, Samaná peninsula offers the best charter fishing on the island with many operators running out of Samaná Bay.

Among the interesting Attractions in Samaná are the excursions.  If you prefer a nice full day excursion, Las Galeras & Rincon Beach Excursion is a very good option. You will visit one of Samana’s most beautiful areas. You will enjoy a boat ride to Playa Rincón. Before arriving at Playa Rincón you will have a snorkelling stop near Playa Colorada to discover the wonders of marine life in the area. Once on Playa Rincón you will have some free time to relax on this amazing beach. After lunch, you will enjoy a horse ride and the spectacular views of the area while heading back to Las Galeras to return to Samaná.

Samaná Attractions also include a full day Catamaran Cruise that will take you to Cayo Levantado, a paradise with a lovely white sandy beach. Buses will take you along the north coast to the Peninsula to sail through Samaná Bay in a catamaran to Cayo Levantado Island. There you will enjoy a delicious lunch served on the beach and some free time to swim and rest. This catamaran cruise will be an exceptional experience.

Santo Domingo Attractions also comprise outstanding places for those who love nature, such as Los Tres Ojos and the National Aquarium. Los Tres Ojos is an impressive 50-foot deep cave with three lagoons surrounded by stalagmites, just five minutes from Colombus Lighthouse. The National Aquarium is also near the city centre and its main attraction is a Plexiglas tunnel through a huge fish tank.

When talking about Samaná Attractions, a trip to El Limon Waterfall will be a great adventure. It is at approximately 300 metres above sea level and has a 40 metre drop that ends in a very deep pool of crystal waters. The trip takes you to the interior of the peninsula where mountains are really high. Horse riding will be an exciting experience along very steep paths with incredible wildlife and tropical vegetation including coffee and cocoa plants and tropical fruits. Once you arrive at this impressive 120 foot high waterfall you will be bewitched by the impressive landscape.

For those interested in Archaeology, Samaná Attractions propose National Park Los Haitises. Reached by a 30 minute boat ride across Samaná Bay, is one of the Dominican Republic’s most spectacular natural parks with its exotic vegetation, fauna and calm waters. It has one of the most important forests and mangrove reserves in the Caribbean, with keys and caves filled with Taino Indians rock paintings.

Mountain biking through tropical rain forests, exploring caves and mangroves, horseback riding through mountain trails and visiting lively little towns that really evoke the multicultural character of the place are some of the many options Samaná Attractions offer you to make your All Inclusive Resort Samaná vacation a once in a lifetime experience.
